TEACHING

Adjunct Professor & Guest Lecturer

Nicole provides a safe educational environment that fosters critical thinking and problem solving for all students.  She brings business cases and real world examples into the classroom setting.  She leverages interactive teaching aids and experiential learning opportunities that are fun, enlightening, and thought provoking to challenge students to be their absolute best. With over 15 years of marketing experience working with Non-Profits, Incubators, and Fortune 500 companies I thrive on inspiring and educating undergraduate and graduate students on how to successfully leverage what they’ve learned in the classroom in real life business situations.  I also enjoy learning from them too!

NICOLE MASON’S

Teaching Philosophy

“Teaching is not just about sharing knowledge. It is about inspiring curiosity, fostering confidence, and creating lasting impact.”

-Nicole Mason

I believe higher education should provide a safe, inclusive environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem solving. In order to become successful professionals, students must not only understand and analyze information from books and lectures but also learn to ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and apply knowledge in real-world contexts.

I encourage students to take an active role in their learning by cultivating a sense of curiosity and openness to new ideas. Equally important, students must value and respect diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences, as these broaden understanding and enrich classroom dialogue.

To bring this to life, I integrate real business cases and current industry examples into the classroom. I strive to make learning interactive and experiential, using teaching aids and hands-on opportunities that are fun, thought-provoking, and relevant. My goal is to challenge students to be their absolute best while equipping them with practical tools that bridge theory and practice.

I assess student learning through quizzes, essays, and applied research assignments, which allow them to demonstrate both conceptual mastery and their ability to think critically, problem solve, and communicate effectively. In turn, I provide multiple avenues for feedback — from weekly office hours to anonymous performance surveys — to ensure I am meeting their needs and continually improving their learning experience.

Finally, I see teaching as a two-way exchange. As a lifelong learner, I believe we must always be open to evolving our thinking, gaining new perspectives, and growing alongside our students. Teaching is not just about sharing knowledge — it is about inspiring curiosity, fostering confidence, and creating lasting impact.
